BSOD while using Youtube, 0x124

Hello, DrZoidbergYU. I will try to help you. All of your dump files ate a code 0X124. An 0X124 is a generic hardware error meaning some piece of hardware is failing/failed or a bad driver is causing a piece of hardware to act as though it is failing. But, it gives no indication of which piece of hardware is involved. So, it is important for us to be aware of each component in your computer as detailed as possible including Manufacturer and model. This should help you to determine that.

Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. Also, please uninstall Dameon Tools. They are a known cause of BSODs. Also, please go to you tube, right click on the video and disable Hardware acceleration. This will help you to uninstall completely Dameon Tools.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below



If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.


Also, Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

DrZoidbergYU, It is my job to worry about Dameon Tools. I believe it is prudent when troubleshooting a computer that is having BSODs to remove all known causes of BSODs. I would think that is a logical approach.

If all you are concerned about is the audio driver, why not install the correct one.

I know, i didn't mean it as insult, just to supply all the known information about my system as possible beyond what is, my suspicion is on audio driver, but, it could be Nvidia, because it have been acting lazy.

My system temp. are normal, cpu/gpu/sb/nb.

My system is OC, but it have been for years, without any problem, and when reverted to its original state it shows same deffect, which leads me to belive its some kind of driver error, because my older 32bit Windows was in much worst shape, and hardware was all dusty and stuff. With this new clean instal of 64bit Win, all hell broke lose.

DrZoidbergYU, it is almost impossible to debug an overclocked system. I am quite familiar with overclocking, and know all the pitfalls. I also know that any time I have stability issues I always set it back to stock levels until I get the system stable. The one think I know for certain about overclocking is if your system is not stable at stock levels, you will never have a stable overclock. If you are having stability issues at stock levels, overclocking will just compound the problems.

DrZoidbergYU, You have a Retail MSI Motherboard. Your Operating System is an OEM_SLP key from Acer/HP/Gateway. It is not legal on any computer other than the one it came from the factory installed on. The only way it can be Activated is with an exploit that alters system files.

Counterfeit installations such as yours contain heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analyzing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable. For this reason, many analysts won't attempt it.

My recommendation is to install a genuine Windows 7. This will minimize the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable. Once you are running a Genuine Windows 7 installation, and are still experiencing BSOD's, we will be happy to help you solve them
