Yeah just checked and the pump is plugged into CPU1 and fan into CPU2.
Room temperature is probably between 10-20C, it is Winter and quite cold.
Considering giving the stock fan a go, if that doesn't work I can re-apply the thermal paste taking photos as I go just to confirm everything?
Does a BSOD come about if the CPU temperature suddenly spikes? I never see it spike in temperature right before a BSOD but maybe it happens to quickly that it automatically throws in a BSOD to stop damage to the CPU? I am a complete novice so apologise if that is a wild theory :P
I personally use coretemp to monitor my cpu and that lets you log the temps so that if it were to bsod you can see what it hit before the log stopped. http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/php/download.php?id=3 That might throw a google warning as the site might be wack atm but that file should be clean and if you want I can upload my personal copy if you feel safer that way. Just extract it somewhere and run it then when open hit F4 and it will start logging then just use the pc like you would and if it crashes reboot and in the folder you extracted it to look for a excel file starting with CT. Also are you sure the pressure for the cpu block is even on all mounts, it has to be tightened in a star pattern (you probably know this, but just checking all the boxes) and AS5 normally has a pretty long cure period though I have not found it to make much of a difference.
I will give Core Temp a shot. Yes CPU cooler is mounted with even pressure applied.
I checked that it was mounted firmly earlier just to make sure that it is actually in contact with the CPU, shouldn't be a problem there :/
Thanks for the help, hopefully this log gives a clearer indication of whether the CPU is spiking in temp.
yeah it should, also don't run it with other apps like real temp in the background or else the results for both programs will be skewed as both try to use the sensors.
Just got a crash with Core Temp logging CPU temp and this was the result.
Only applications running were Core Temp and Chrome :/
Yeah still 124, I have attached the latest BSOD log or whatever it is that gets generated from dm log collector if that helps at all.
I'm not very good at reading that stuff so you will have to wait and see what some of the others say. But I think heat is not an issue for you atm if your crashing with just 41c.
