BSOD when playing on a wow pserver with a huge custom patch

Hello Chulain, and welcome to the forums. Please put your system specs in the 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of your last post. Please include the Manufacturer and Model of each if possible. Also please include your PSU and CPU cooler. These are the instructions I usually give.

Can you boot into Windows in Safe Mode and get graphics or boot into BIOS and get graphics? Your dump files are both the same

If you can, please boot into BIOS and give me the values of your +12V, +5V and +3.3V. Also, if you can, please boot into Safe Mode and open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt system files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Does your board have on board graphics and do you have another pcie X16 slot?

Please go to Windows Update and click on Update History in the left column. See if you have KB3022345 installed. If you do, please uninstall it (Windows Update - Uninstall an Update). Reboot and try to run sfc /scannow again.

You have 2 brands of ram installed, which is asking for trouble.

are you sure your PSU is not CWT instead of CTW? Plus, Sapphire requires a 500 W PSU for your card SAPPHIRE HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE#. That is not to say it will not work, but you would be pushing your PSU close to it's limits.

Please try to boot into safe mode and uninstall your Graphics drivers. Once they are uninstalled try to boot normally. If that works I am going to give you some suggestions of how to install the new drivers, which you should have alreadt downloaded.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall your current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

Yep, typo, it's been working fine for 6 years tho.

This means to me you have been pushing your power supply to it top limits for a long time which is not good.

It could be, but that is a hard one to tell and be sure. With you booting into safe mode, the video drivers don't load, but they should not BSOD. It can also be your Motherboard.

Didn't manage to get that iso on a USB, also tried with other programs, some saying "iso is invalid". Tried on 2 usb's (one used to reinstall windows 7 earlier and it was fine)

Tried Seatools for Windows instead of DOS(?) and it worked. I've done both tests and they both passed.
However the setting in my bios for my hard drive was at IDE, I should've changed it to AHCI? The guide you've linked didn't say anything about IDE so I thought it'd be fine, I'll do it again on AHCI if it matters.

In the meantime I've found out the GPU's broken, I've tried it on another system and had the same problems on it.

Also found out that the Nvidia card I've tried earlier had wrong drivers, I'm currently using a temporary card, ASUS EAH 5570 (AMD) and I don't have any issues (for now).

However I would like to find out if the PSU broke my 6870 before buying a new card.
