Assorted BSODs, no pattern
I have been getting a lot of BSODs over the last several months. I have yet to recognize a pattern so I would like to get an opinion from this forum. The BSODs have included: Bad Pool Headers, Memory Management, An Attempt Was Made To Write To Read Only Memory, IRQL Not Less Or Equal, and some that appeared not to have a label at all. There were also instances where I turned on the power and it went to a black screen. Sometimes it will throw a BSOD before I get to the password screen. Other times I will use the computer for hours and I will leave it on (sometimes after closing all the programs running or sometimes not) unattended and I will return to a BSOD. Very perplexing…
I have an older eMachine that I upgraded to Windows 7 with an AMD Anthalon 64 3500+, a GeForce 8400 GS PCIe video card, the original RealTek RTL8139 Network Adapter, the original ATI/AMD SB400 Audio Controller, an ATAPI DVD A DH24ABS, a Samsung 233335W monitor, 4 gigs RAM and a Hitachi Terabyte hard drive. I have run Driver Genius and made all the suggested driver updates. I have run MemCheck86, the Windows Memory Checker, and the thorough CheckDisk repair routine.
