BlueScreen while playing newer games

Right, I've got to be honest I've never heard of Cooltek and we normally advise top quality power supplies, it's the one component that often gets overlooked. I'm not going to rule it out at the moment but we'll try another couple of things first.

Can you uninstall the card via Device Manager then power down and remove the power cable from the PC. Physically remove the power connectors from the GPU and then remove the GPU from the motherboard. Replace the GPU ensuring it's fully seated and then reconnect the power cables, again ensuring they're fully seated. Boot up and install the latest driver for your card following NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

Test the system for stability.

OK, one more thing I'd like to try before I lean towards the PSU. Can you move the card to the next PCIe slot and test. This will rule out the PCIe slot itself.

I've also asked my hardware expert friend to drop in and take a look, see if there's anything I'm overlooking.

Boozad has covered most of the bases. But I would like to try a couple of things. Could you check and make sure you have the latest version of Direct X? How to install the latest version of DirectX It won't install if you have the Latest version, which you should if your Windows Updates are Current. Please make sure they are.

If you get current on your Windows Updates and the Direct X is the latest version, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

If you do not have it, please download and install, GPUz (GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility) and post screenshots of both tabs. We don't need the Validation tab. Here's how to upload screenshots in case you need it Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Also, please go into BIOS and tell me the values of the +12V, +5V and +3.3V. let's try that for starters. Do you have another GPU card? If not, could you start asking friends if they have one they could loan you for a day or two, if we need it or if they would be willing to swap cards with you for a couple of days just to test it out. The second option would be best for you. Try your card in their computer and their card in your computer. That should tell us whether you have a bad card or not.

Just on the off chance, would you mind going to Control Panel, Category view and click on uninstall a program and give us a screenshot so we could take a look at what programs you have installed in case there may be one with a driver conflict.

Needless to say, if you are overclocking anything, please set everything back to default levels. If you have any Gigabyte Utilities, please uninstall every one of them. They are known causes of BSODs.

Please try those things and give us an update on how the initial scans and go and please provide the information requested. Hopefully there will be something that stands out that is causing your problems.

John I asked Steve to drop by and double check to see if I'd missed anything regarding the motherboard and the GPU. I was leaving the PSU until after I'd exhausted every other idea I had, who wants to replace a new PSU?

I'm bang out of ideas so feel free to take over John.
