[FIXED] Windows7 Fresh Installation = Unexpectd Error ?
HELP!
I just got a whole new system, piece by piece. I also ordered Windows 7 32-bit OEM.
The hard drive is fresh, a Seagate 500GB SATA internal, that has never been used before. I booted from the LG DVD/CD drive, and the installation seems to go fine, but when it reboots a few times and it appears to be finished, it gets to a screen where it says STARTING SERVICES and then it crashes...
No BSOD, just a window that appears on the screen that reads:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and the restart installation."
It has done this every time. My computer hardware stats are on my profile, but I have an ASUS M3A78-EM motherboard with AMD Athlon II X2 240 CPU and 4GB Corsair (2x2GB sticks) DDR2 1066MHz RAM, LG DVD-writer/multi drive, and the 500GB hard drive. The graphics and audio come onboard the motherboard.
I am using an HDMI cable to connect it to my HDTV which has an HDMI port. I have a HANNspree HDMI computer monitor that supports VGA and HDMI. But would that cause a problem?
I don't understand... it's supposed to be supereasy to install. The instructions that came with Windows 7 just show a quick page that just basically says "insert disc, follow instructions, install, and you're done." But it's not happening!! Very confused... I can't install motherboard or other drivers until Windows 7 gets installed.
Anyone else have this problem? I can't seem to find any similar threads...
Thanks
