BSOD 0x00000124 since building new PC - Happens seemingly at random

    Hi all,

Firstly thanks for reading. I'm ready to pull my hair out!

So i've built a PC, using the specs in my profile. And for the first day or so, it ran without a hitch, then came the dreaded 0x0124 BSOD I've done some research to try and isolate the problem but i've been totally unsuccessful.

I've changed the CPU, Motherboard, Ram, and CPU cooling fan with brand new parts and it still happens.

The computer is running totally stock with no overclocks at all. I've ran a PSU calculator and i definitely have enough headroom to run my parts.

I have also ran MEMTEST86, granted, not until completion, but there were no errors for the length of time i tried it for, plus, both RAM and mobo have been changed.

The strange thing is, is that sometimes the PC will run for 3/4 days without a hitch, then all of a sudden the BSOD will happen multiple times a day. I have also reformatted Windows multiple times and reformatted the drive properly.

I hope someone can offer some advice. I've built many a-pc in my time, and I am absolutely stumped!

Sometimes this happens when running games, or photoshop, but it can also happen while the computer is idling.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam

0x124's are typically related to a hardware issue and can only be isolated by stress testing the major components.

If overclocking, reset all overclocks back to their default settings and then follow these:

RAM - run for a minimum of 8 consecutive passes

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

CPU - run the HIGH test

CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest

Video - run the FURMARK test for 20mins

    Graphics Card Problems - Diagnose

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Storage - run the SHORT test using the DOS version

Cheers for the reply. I ran Memtest for about an hour (not sure how many passes) but as i said, the RAM has been changed, as has the board and CPU.

I have also stressed the CPU and GPU but i will do so again.

Will SeaTools work OK with a Western Digital HDD?

    Hi all,

Sorry for the slow reply to this. Sadly the BSOD's are still happening.

I was playing a game last night and the system seemingly crashed, the screen went black, but i could still tell the game was still running in the background as the controller was vibrating as i was being hit! I was trying to alt tab out but nothing was happening. Then the windows error box came up telling me my computer crashed with the same BSOD 0x0124..yet the computer never shutdown or rebooted! Very strange. First time that has happened.

I have attached my GPU Z sensor log to Copy as it is huge GPU Z Log, this is from a few weeks ago though.

    I hope this helps..
