Do you have the Windows Installation Disk?

The only disk that came with the computer is a Windows 8.1 installation disk which could be used if I wanted to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (I do not). This computer was apparently downgraded from 8 to 7 at the factory.

I thought that imaging programs only backed up programs, not user data. I do not use Microsoft Backup and Restore to backup my user data. I backup user data to a network attached storage device. Then the NAS backs up the data to an externally-attached HDD. I admit to not storing the HDD off-site, which I know is good practice.

It seems that as time goes on, more and more "critical" personal data lives in the cloud (all google data, lastpass, evernote). If the cloud went down, I'd be in much worse condition than if my local backups were destroyed.

If you kept your user folders on your C drive (C:/Users/yourusername, an image will back them up as part of the system image.
Your Documents, pictures, favorites, music, videos. Sounds like you have a good backup plan.

I didn't realize that!

My C drive is a 256GB SSD. I'm using it only for the OS and installed programs. My D drive is two 1TB drives configured for RAID 0.

Thank you for all your help. I will follow your advice about installing the drivers soon and post again if I need more help!
