BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL happens when left on logon screen

    Hi..

I've recently had some USB charging issues which seem to be resolved after giving the computer a good physical clean:
    USB charging problems

As part of the diagnostic process, I uninstalled/reinstalled USB controller drivers, created a fresh Acronis True Image backup then performed a format and reinstall. When that didn't appear to fix the USB issues, I decided to clean the computer and then restore the Acronis image.

However, since restoring the image, I have had a couple of BSODs. They have both occurred when the computer is idling on the logon screen. If I log in straight away after booting up, the computer seems to run perfectly well. It remains on for hours and I can browse the internet, play media and games without any problems at all. Also, after logging in, I'm able to switch users then go to the logon screen and that appears to be stable too.

I've attached the DM Log Collector files and will be happy to provide any other information as required.

In the meantime, I may try updating ESET as I'm using a version which is a couple of years old.

    Thanks for any help :)

You know what is the issue. Replace the may with a must. Report us for any further BSOD after doing it.

    Had another BSOD tonight:
    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL again.

This one occurred when the missus was browsing sites after a Google search.

I've updated ESET Smart Security to v8.0.312.0 but the firewall module is still listed in the crash dump. Seems to be having problems with netio.sys.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions please.

    Attached updated files.

    Thanks :)

    Your bad luck then.

You may consult with eset about the issue. Now, to stop the BSODs, uninstall eset. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Report us for any further BSOD.
