Apologies I meant Avast free version not Avira.
Apologies I meant Avast free version not Avira.
No problem.
Use the tool below to uninstall Avast.
Then install MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes.
NoteMake sure you uncheck the 'Enable Free Trial' box when installing.
Thanks - uninstalled avast fine.
Then installed MS security essentials, which also went fine. But then after it had installed and updated latest definitions it ran a quick scan, but then the system switched straight off again, so I guess Avast was not the problem?
I turned back on, installed Malwarebytes which went fine. Then tried to run a quick scan again with MS security essentials but the system cut out again although it did get a lot further through this time.
Can you post up new logs? It may be worth checking Event Log to see if anything's showing in there.
Any clues from the new logs Boozad?
If not what would be the best next step?
No probs.
Did you manage to have a look?
It's still in AHCI mode so not sure whether to change it back and hope for BSODs again to give a clue, as opposed to it just straight turning off.
Or to check it's been physically put in properly?
I have taken a quick look mate but I need to sit down for a while and comb through Event Log. I'll carry on going through it tonight.
Awesome thanks, much appreciated!
