BSOD: Error code 0x24 (which scopes as NTFS.SYS related)
The BSOD comes during boot, so is not easily chased down.
- HDD passes: SpinRite 6 certified drive as 100% error-free after level 3 diagnostic was allowed to run on all partitions
- No viruses were found anywhere by any scanner I've thrown at the system. A half-dozen false-positives (easily detected as such) were caught on the Linux partition.
- Unable to boot to Windows at all. Not Safe Mode, not even Recovery Console. All produce the reported BSOD.
The problem might go away if I can run CHKDSK /R /F /V (yes, I use /V frequently), but (see third point of bullet list) can't get to a command prompt.
Is there any way to run CHKDSK if you cannot get a WinRE session running? If there isn't, I am totally stuck. Don't currently have the bits of hardware needed to dismount the HDD of this laptop and troubleshoot it using another machine, and (due to a hacker) not enough money to even consider attempting to acquire said bits of hardware at the present.
