BSOD during start up after installed the graphic card driver.

    Hi and good morning,

Recently I have re-format my pc to Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed the driver using cd provided with the motherboard and my pc works just fine. However, once I installed my graphic card driver using the latest version from AMD site, (my graphic card AMD Radeon HD 6790), it keep giving me bsod everytime I start up my pc during the windows loading screen. Please help.

When did you build this computer? Did you do a clean install of the operating system? Have you run all Windows Updates until there were no more? You should not use the Driver Disk to install drivers. Download them from your Motherboard's web site. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX/HelpDesk/. They will be much newer drivers. Try reinstalling your Graphics driver. I'll give you some suggestions to get a good clean install.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...ndows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.
