BSOD 0124 whilst playing any games after recent motherboard change.

I recently changed my mother board to an ASUS maximus vii ranger and have been having a few problems with the transition.

I had to replace my SSD initially as i found that it was incompatible with the motherboard. I had been looking at upgrading that part of the system anyway so that was no problem.

Shortly after sorting out the booting issues due to the incompatible SSD i found my computer generating a lot of BSODs during normal operation of windows. This was rectified by updating my windows to the current version using windows update.

The 0124 BSODs have been occurring mainly on intensive games such as GTA V and Far Cry 4.

Any information you could provide me with in order to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you do a Clean Install of Windows after the new hardware were installed?

Could you show what power supply is in your computer in My System Specs.

I'm no BSOD expert but those are a few things I noticed.

After the new SSD was installed i formatted the two remaining hard drives and did a fresh install of windows 7.

The Power Supply is a Corsair GS800.

Thanks for pointing out my incomplete system specs list. i forgot to update it last night when i started this thread.

i overclocked my RAM in order to test it utilising an X.M.P profile on my mohterboard.
This caused the computer to BSOD within 5 mniutes of starting Far Cry 4.

Could this 0124 BSOD be caused by the RAM and what would i need to do to solve the problem as it still crashes with no overclocking on the RAM.

Some motherboards and ram like XMP and some don't.

I would set the ram timing according to the rams specs without using XMP and see if that works.
Or you could set your bios to default without XMP.

If I understand you correctly, you have a Clean Install of Windows 7 on your new SSD and motherboard.
Is that correct.

You could also unhook the hard drives to get them out of the picture until your problem is solved.

i was using the "optimal" settings that are set by the BIOS which seem to be the settings laid out by kingston manufacturers for the RAM.

I've inputted the settings laid out in the online pdf specs that kingston produced and it has had zero effect.

Will look at messing round with the HDD tomorrow as its 1am here atm and i have work in the morning.

I've been looking into my dmp files and finding the last filename in the dmp file. Its Hal.dll+12a3b.
Upon further investigation i found some information about the power settings on windows maybe being an issue. I was on recommended instead of high performance. It was mentioned that the minimum processor state in the power settings can have an issue. i've changed to the high performance which has it set to 100% instead of the 5% on recommended.
