BSOD 0x124 Preventing me from updating nvidia graphics driver
Alright, story time. This computer had a blue screen problem ever since got this computer from a friend 2 years ago. Sometimes it blue screens 5 or 6 times a day or it blue screens 1 or 2 times a week, even though my schedule is relatively the same. Gaming, Youtube, etc, 8-12 hours a day. It hasn't been much of a issue, so I just dealt with it.
A couple days ago I decided I would try to fix it by updating drivers and such, that I have neglected due to random blue screens. I used Driver Booster 2 to make it easier and about halfway through updating the drivers, I got a blue screen. When I rebooted, my graphics driver just disappeared, my computer reverted back to the basic graphics driver. When I try to install a new driver, I blue screen relatively in the same spot. I have a nvidia graphics card, so I have tried using Geforce Experience, I downloaded the driver from their website and I also used a driver disc, but no luck. I have updated the driver in the past, it just took me a while and a lot of blue screens before finally getting through it.
My computer won't write any .dmp after a bluescreen, so I don't have a recent one. The latest one I have is from May 9th, but like I said, I have had this problem ever since I got this computer and the blue screen error is 99% 0x124, so hopefully those can still help. I have used BlueScreenView and again 99% of my blue screens are caused by ntoskrnl.exe, if that is any help.
I have tried a countless number of things these past couple days, running Google into the ground, so now I turn to you guys.
Lastly my specs.
Intel Pentium D 930 3.00 MHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650
4 Sticks of 1GB RAM
ASUS EMERY Motherboard (not 100% sure about this one)
x2 300GB ATA hard drives
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Please let me know if I missed anything, and thanks in advance.
