    Recurring BSODs usually 0x000000F4


    Hi all,

    I've been having trouble with BSODs for some time now. I have no idea of the cause, as WhoCrashed gives either vague information or blames my webcam (weird?), and I would like to see if someone can point me in the right direction before I start re-installing Windows 7. This isn't because I can't be bothered to re-install it, it's only because I'm half way through a musical project which requires this PC, and much of what I need to finish the project is a little bit hit and miss on the software side of things - VSTs and plugins are routed all over the place and I don't wanna mess stuff up.

    WhoCrashed has given me two reasons for the BSODs: my Logitech c920 webcam; and a kernel driver issue. I've attempted to reinstall and webcam drivers and it seems to have made no difference.

    I've attached the necessary dump file which is detailed on the "how to" page for this forum.

    Make sure your dump logging is enabled.

    1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click System.
    3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
    4. Check Write an even to the system log, and Automatically restart.
    5. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (256k).


    Location of Dumps:
    C:\Windows\minidump


    please follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions to grab all and upload a new report here.

    Run Disk Check on your Hard Drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it.

     Hard Drive Diagnostics


    • Double click and open my computer.
    • Right click on desired drive and hit properties.
    • Click on tools tab and Check now.
