    BSOD 0x00000124 Hardware issue

    0x00000000B2000010.0
    System info:
    Asus A8N-E motherboard
    Athlon 3500+ 939 cpu
    3 gb ddr ram
    MSI R5450 video 1gb
    ASUS Xonar DG audio card
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    Avast, Malwarebytes, Spybot

I put my old system in a new Fractal Design R4 case, that's when I got the BSOD's. Tried a new video card, a new DVD drive, bios indicated 0 rpms on the cpu fan, but it was spinning. Replaced that. The computer will post but not start windows. I can't get into safe mode and I've tried both the repair CD and the install CD multiple times with system repair, and system restore. I can't run memory test. I've done a long test of the hhd with seagate's dos program, and the hhd passed that, any ideas on what the error codes are trying to tell me. Hoping it's not a bad motherboard or cpu

thrandall, welcome to the Forums. Did you replace any parts or is thise the same system in a new case? Please tell me exactly what happens when you try to boot into Windows. I know you know the answer to much of this, but I would like to know what BIOS says. Please go into BIOS and tell me how much ram it sees, Go to the Boot configuration and tell be the 1st and second boot device, tell me wat the sata controller is set to (IDE, AHCI or Raid). Tell me the values of the +12V, +5V and Z+3.3V. Also please tell me the Dram, timings, Frequency and Voltage.

Did you change Motherboards or CPU's? Please give as many details about what happened and what you did and any information that may help us figure this out. Please go look at your wiring of the computer and make sure all wires are completely seated, and make sur the 24 pin and the 8 pin ATX for the CPU is plugged in and completely seared. Also, please tell me why you can't run Memtest86+.

I put the old system in a new case. I only removed the video card, sound card, hhd, DVD drive and power supply. I encountered the bsod's when I tried to turn the computer on. After 2 restarts and the 2 sets of bsod's, I could not get the system to start Windows, nor can I get into safe mode with the F8 key. Bios initially showed the cpu fan at 0 rpms...it was spinning, I could see it spinning. The chipset fan was not working. I replaced the cpu fan with a new one, I did not remove the cpu. I then changed the chipset fan. I changed the video card to a new one of the same brand and type.
Here are the Bios specs you asked for:
    1st boot device: CD
    2nd boot device: Hhd
    Hyper transport frequency: auto
    AMD Cool & Quiet: disabled
    PCllPnP: no
    Init Display First: PCI-E
    Recources controlled by : auto
    Cpu frequency: 200.0
    Overclock: standard
    PCI Epress clock: 100 Mhz
    PCI Epress sychronization mode: auto
    Q,fan controller: enabled
    Vcore voltage: 1.40v
    3.3 voltage: 3.31v
    5 voltage: 4.94v
    12 voltage: 11.77v
    Cpu temp: 41c
    MB trmp: 37c
    Cpu fan speed: 3879 rpm
    Chip fan:5672 rpm
    Cha 1 fan: disabled

I tried running memtest from the Windows repair disk, the computer would restart and after post, go black. Only with the repair CD in can I almost get it into safe mode, but only after multiple attempts. Then while safe mode is loading, the repair CD program pops up and safe mode doesn't load... I see a black screen with safe mode in the corners

Try this and see what happens

    Please Run Memtest86+

       Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Boot from the CD or USB drive, whichever you choose to make. You don't need the repair disk or to boot into Windows. See if you go to a black screen during that and see if the ram fails. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Well, last night I started the test, about 3am, I checked and on pass 2 there were 2 errors. When I got up and checked, it was on pass 6 with no errors. So I took all of the memory out except for the first one, and I'll test each stick and each slot.

I'm not sure I understand. On pass 2 there were 2 errors. So, how do you get to pass 6 with 0 errors?

Yes. If you ran all of them in the same session. If you start over, so does the test.
