*-Windows crashed with a blue screen four days ago, on this Clevo laptop from 2007. I can start up Windows, but it lasts only a few minutes before crashing again. It seems to run without problems in Safe Mode with Networking, though for some reason I can only establish a "Limited access" connection to the network.
I understand from the error code that this is likely to be a hardware issue. I have checked, and both fans are operational. The interior is free of dust. I have run chkdsk and scannow. I also tried reinstalling my old Vista hard drive, but this also crashed.

Speccy failed to run unfortunately - with error message "CPU.dll init failed (error 2). I see other people have had this problem. I tried rebooting the machine, but still no joy. I have tried PC-Wizard - this also failed to run. I have just tried Open Hardware Monitor, which is giving me the HDD temperature (48C) but has only dashes for the two CPU cores.
I have also tried restarting the computer using msconfig's diagnostic startup, but this also goes straight to blue screen. All this started out of the blue on Monday.

Hmm am wondering if you can get the temp from the BIOS you should be able to get into that.
F2 on power up I think it is and the temp should be around 40- 50C or less on idle

I just managed to do a normal boot, after letting the machine cool down, long enough to run CPU Thermometer (CPU Temperature Monitor). One core was running at 53C, the other at 55C at the point the blue screen took over. (No temperatures visible on the BIOS screens) Re the IntelBurn Test: I have tried looking for the maximum operating temperature of my CPU. I have found a T JUNCTION figure of 100C for my T7500. Is this the figure I am looking for?
