Complete rebuild but still getting BSOD

This has been along saga dating back to my original installation of Windows 7. I had planned to upgrade from XP and purchased a "student" copy of Win 7 Pro. The spec of my PC was very different to its current incarnation, with an older Gigabyte 970A MB and an AMD Phenom processor. I had BSOD's from the outset taking several attempts to install Win 7. There does not seem to be a pattern to the occurances with the PC often crashing when not in use but just idling. Gradually I've changed the following to try to cure the BSOD problem.
    MB - now newer 970A rev 3
    Processor AMD FX 6300
    Graphics card
    power supply
    case
memory - started with 4Gb DDR3 replaced it with another 4Gb stick and as no improvement in BSODs eventually used both in the appropriate slots to give 8Gb on the MB.
Windows activated without problems and has continually updated on line as expected.

Some of the software I use is quite old and I suspected dodgy drivers but have never suceeded in finding a culprit. So this time I decided to make a completely clean install on a brand new hard disc. It crashed while installing Win7 (I think the BSOD has a message to the effect page fault in non paged area ?? Does this make sense?) and I had to clear the disc and restart the installation process. I removed one of the 4Gb memory modules and suceeded in getting Win 7 installed but have had several crashes since. At the moment there is no other software installed other than AVG free and Firefox 40.0.2. I had previously moved away from AVG and tried Avast as an alternative but no improvement.

Grateful for any advice as I seem to be running around in circles. Eventually I want to upgrade to Win 10 (no rush, 10 months to go) but need a stable system first.

Update your Atheros network adapter driver.

Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r.
Install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Do the exact same steps for chkdsk /r but instead of typing in sfc /scannow type chkdsk /r.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Thanks for this but I have been here before. I've now run both chkdsk and sfc/scannow on the latest installation and neither has indicated any problems. However they were run after windows update carried out 228 updates last night. The updates did install without a problem - which is a lot better than previous sessions installing win7 although this time I installed SP1 via a disc before connecting to the internet to let windows do its thing.
I updated the Atheros driver through windows update (i.e. used device manager and updated driver button) before windows did its 228 on line updates. Although it seems stable at the moment, I still can't understand why it crashed on the initial installation of Win 7 as at that point no drivers had been added to those of the basic windows set up. I had previously run a memory checker on both 4Gb memory modules - overnight giving several passes - without reported problems.
I don't know if it may be a clue to the source of my problem but in the past it has been deceptively stable for a few days following a rebuild before descending into repeated BSODs - so I may come back in a few days.

Well, that didn't last long... As I have made a complete reinstall of Win 7 every time I shut down more updates appear. This morning a number of updates tried to install but caused a crash partly though the process. I restarted and the second attempt seemed to work properly. However a bit later on while working on e mail (Mozilla Thunderbird client) and a word processed document (Open Office 4.1.1, Writer) it crashed again. Latest dumps attached if anyone would be kind enough to have a look and offer advice.

Nono, you must go to the Atheros site and download it from there.

OK done that now, Qualcomm Atheros driver 10.0.0.313 05/03/2015 installed. Fingers crossed it is the cause.

I've left it for a couple of weeks before replying to see if things have resolved themselves. However although the system is much more stable I still get occasional crashes for no apparent reason. The latest dump files are attached for info if anyone fancies a look.

    Thanks

Well about 5 minutes after the last post it crashed. I've run seatools for windows and had passes on Short Drive Self Test and Short Generic Test, but the long generic test took hours and was abandoned. The PC was going into standby even with the test running. I tried a second time but after about an hour I gave up and was using the internet when it crashed again. Latest dump files attached.
