I wanted to replace just to see if the CPU is bad ..... I mean to run the E2160 through all these tests .
I still have the E8500 i just asked if its a good idea to switch them to see if E8500 is failing ,because im sure the other one is good.

    I'm not that stupid mate

Look don't be offended I was not inferring you were stupid it is just a way of saying it makes no sense in using an older and slower CPU over a newer and faster one. It was not pointing the finger at you and accusing you of being anything but a normal person.

I think you have really misinterpreted what I was saying and that saying it in that way is an expression we use all the time between friends as I am not in the habit of offending anyone in any way. I am sorry that you took it that way but I suppose it would not be good for us all to be the same eh? :)

Now to get back on track yes I do think it would be good to try the E8500 again and see if there are any problems with it running.

I tried Furmark again because i don't have thermal compound to test the E2160........ 2 hours and 30 minutes and no problems.
I think that the GPU is totally fine mate . What do you think? 6 furmark tests with no problems. But we talk about the CPU ,GPU and others but never thought about motherboard. The Mobo it's 8 years old.

And the BIOS on this is totally *beep* ..... it won't show the temps of CPU , has no overclocking options (i won't OC but really).

The total usage of the E8500 is less than a year

Yep well I was going to come to that as a matter of fact because as you have now said that six Furmarks with no problem and the CPU though slow is still working the machine pints the finger at the hard drive and the motherboard there are few other things that can be looked at eh?

The PSU has been done and I think I mentioned before it is one of the first things I head for.
No temps on the BIOS is odd though??

Problem is where are you going to find a replacement board? - probably nowhere and if you do it would have to be a used one and that is fraught with problems. If you replace it with another brand MB then that means you are up for a new CPU probably RAM and not to mention a copy of Windows 7. So is that an option?? probably not and I personally would try to get this rig going with the E8500 and see what happens

As for OC I would think that even the E8500 would not be able to do much if at all.

Sounds like a plan my friend and while you are at it why not a complete build it doesn't have to be fancy although you would be wise to build as best you can with the budget you have - by that I mean don't go skimping on stuff like I did with my first build when for a few dollars extra I could have had a fantastic build instead of a mediocre one

Good luck and if you are after ideas just post a thread in here we are always looking for new ideas and for us to give ideas to others. But one word of warning it is ADDICTIVE

I know it's a late reponse but........ I think I found the problem. The BSOD's were getting worse and worse.
Cleaned the entire PC and reseated the RAM in different postions I think.Everything got worse from that moment, I was getting now a BSOD after watching just 5 minutes on Twitch I was getting a simply random BSOD ..... random bugchecks ...random everything.Appeared something new this time because I was getting BSOD's after 1-2 hours of doing nothing just searching and replying on other forum.

At one point I became angry and just wanted to throw this ******* PC out of my house.
But then I came with the idea of removing useless components.I unninstalled my audio drivers for my Soundblaster card and then removed it.I was still getting Blue screens. Then unplugged my optical driver.Still same situation.

Then I realised that I bought the kits of RAM at different times.I bought 1 kit (2x1 GB) of Geil DDR2-800 and after some time my friend sold my his sticks of RAM that were identical (same timings ,same frequency, same capacity and all that stuff). His RAM kit was used 1 month before he never used it so it was like new. We tested that RAM at his place came up with no errors .Then I tested at my place no errors.

So i removed 3 sticks and ran with just 1 GB of RAM .Currently after 1 h and 3 minutes the PC works just fine running twitch at source quality. I'll try to put another stick of RAM from the same kit on the white slots and then remove them and put the second kits on the black slots. If i won't get bluescreens I will try to put all the rame sticks with the same kits on the same colour.Same kits god the same series so maybe that will work but it seems that is a RAM compatibility problem.

Ok mate you have touched on two things here 1) making sure the sticks are compatible with the MB and 2) the MB just might have compatibility issues the RAM slots you have been using.

Now it is always the best if one can to run the RAM as a kit - that is to say the sticks were of the same manufacturer, model and of the same batch of RAM being made. It is all well and good of putting in of sticks that to all intents and purposes have the some volts frequencies etc but the basic specs of each individual stick may vary enough for them not to work in unison - if you get my drift.

The board slots and the order they are best used is the way / order of use that the manufacturer states to be used. Some brands state that the slots/ sticks install should start at the nearest to the CPU ie 1 & 3 and others the next slot out ie 2 & 4 but that is down to scratching away at the MB manual and I am guessing for that particulate board it would take some delving into.

A good source of info is this site Tradesman is really good at advising what RAM - type and amount one should be using.
I know it is G Skill and that for the main I use that brand but he will still be able to give you some ideas.
Welcome to the G.SKILL TECH FORUM

Meanwhile I might go scratch around to see what I can find about that MB.

So after testing them the RAM is not faulty but it seems incompatible.First i put 2 sticks that were from the same kit (looked on the model numer and series) and they worked well together not getting BSOD's on twitch.
Then I tried the other kit and it worked the same as the previous, showing no Bluescreens. To remember the sticks are exactly the same all for of them having the same timings ,frequincies, look the same etc. When I put together all 4 of them and ran Twitch, after 40 minutes got a BSOD.

Maybe is something with voltages but my BIOS is so bad that i can't even see anything about voltages and the others.I think it's the worst BIOS ever made ...
So it's clearly something incompatible here .I put the matching kits on 1-3 slots ,respectively 2-4 slots.
I found a store who sells brand new DDR2 RAM but it's expensive ,so I was thinking selling these 4 sticks on matching kits (2x1 Gb and 2x1 Gb) and buying a bred new pair of 2x2 Gb DDR2 and see how it goes. What do you think?

Well I think that is a good idea to be perfectly frank and that it will "match up" will certainly do no harm.
The RAM you have been trying with does seem to play a part in what of your problems. Unfortunately it is as you say expensive.

Have you had a look on your local EBay site as I think if you are really careful you may be able to pick up some at a reasonable price and from a dealer at that at least then you have some recourse to get your money back or the sticks swapped for good ones. Now just to give you some idea this is some DDR2 I can view out here that is sourced from Honk Kong and it is Samsung memory Samsung 8GB 2X4GB DDR2 800MHz PC2 6400 240pin FOR AMD CPU Motherboard Memory | eBay The price is good and as long as you search for Brand New and a known brand I thin you may be ok.

If you have any reservations please don't hesitate to ask us / me.
