    Hang after startup

Im running windows 7 home premium x64, I was playing a game when I got a bsod and restarted. After restarting and typing in my password I only had a black screen with the mouse cursor. Restarted again, typed in my password and everything seemed to start normally. I tried to launch internet explorer, but nothing would happen. I tried several more to launch the application but nothing. Other programs were doing the same thing, I would double click the icon and nada, however I could open things like pics on my desktop with no problem. When I would click on the start the menu it would open, however all of the menus and icon could not be clicked on. After about 5mins everything that I had tried to open will suddenly start. After that everything runs fine. I have tried a system restore and I'm having no luck.

Sounds like a malware issue. Log into safe mode + networking. Then download Malwarebytes, install, update the definitions in the program once it's opened, then run a full system scan.
