    Random BSOD & Lockups.

Been getting bluescreens and lockups again, I used to have the same issue in '14 with my screen glitching out (seen below) before crashing or freezing. Back then I was able to fix it by uninstalling the drivers for my card and updating them, the problem disappeared till a couple of days ago. I suspect the issue is with the software though it could be a hardware issue as well. If someone could help me and take a look through the driver information as well at the recent bluescreens. I've also had a couple other bluescreens but it didn't create a minidump.

So far the crashes occur at random, whenever I'm playing a game or not. I'm fairly certain it's not the heat of the system as it usually stays around a comfortable 50°C/122°F when active.

Another is this one and is a graphic driver problem and it is suggested that the Catalyst CC is uninstalled and only the device driver be used in fact most of the first dumps are related to this.

So suggest you uninstall the CC and go with just the GPU driver.

Just adding to my reply there is in the msinfo32 files an issue with a problem device and if I am not terribly mistaken it is an AOD monitor? anyway I cannot read Dutch. Can you go into that and see what that is about.

The other issue if you can call it an issue is the AVG AV personally I am not a fan at all but at this point in time I would stay focused on the graphics and other driver stuff.

    Hi ICIT2LOL,

Pretty sure the AOD is the AMD graphics OverDrive used to modify the card's clocks via the Catalyst Control Center. As for AVG AV, I'm open to suggestions. About the Catalyst Control Center, I can't seem to 'just' install the drivers as every install drags the Catalyst Software Suite along with it. I also rely on OverDrive to control my fan speeds and clocks which do via the Catalyst Control Center. Is there no way to say, fix the Catalyst Control Center and AOD device/driver issues?

To be honest I don't know about the CCC and fan control and I might just ask for some help on this one, because I have not come across this situation before.

To be frank I personally had that many problems with CCC and AMD stuff when I did my first two builds that I ended up switching to NVidia and again that is a choice that I cannot make for you nor would I suggest you should do so. It also of course relies on budget and if one wants something different but I have had no problems with graphics since changing over.

Well in any case I've completely uninstalled all components again and reinstalled the driver, so far no issues. I'll post an update within a day or two.

So far the system has been active for 34 hours with no issues, I believe the issue has been resolved.

Ok well you know where we are if you have any more problems. Hopefully just reseating the hardware and installing the drivers again did the trick - worth remembering in case it does flare up a again eh?
