Constant BSOD in the last few days

Hi

Its my first time here so if I make some mistakes, I'll apologize in advance.

To give a little bit of background before I get into the problem, I'm using a laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Z570 to be specific). I upgraded my OS to Win 10 in august but due to few missing drivers for certain components and other problems, I downgraded back to my original OS Win 7 home a few days back.

This just made things a lot more messy. Originally, my WiFi wasn't working (in Win 10) and the micro USB adapter I was using didn't have a driver for Win 10 either and it was causing a lot of BSOD (presumably). So I thought going back to Win 7 will fix that.

I had to re-install Smite (as I had removed it from my laptop prior to the upgrade) among other games and software and ever since then, whenever I load Smite, within a minute (say the time it takes to close the News window or open the login rewards page and redeem it) the laptop will have a BSOD. Most often it won't have the same error code though some are more frequent.

At first I thought it was a problem with my Laptop (maybe all those upgrade and downgrade screwed up my hardware, its after all a 4 year old Laptop), but the fact remains that I'm getting crashes only when Smite is involved. I was wondering if anyone here can help me out or shed some light on what is causing this. I'm really worried that this is a hardware problem because the laptop has started to make a lot of noise in the past few months (sounds like a fan as its near the exhaust port of the unit).

I've attached the file as per forum rules but I must mention that the system has very few crash reports because I often ended up force restarting the system in frustration. I apologize and I hope you have enough information in the files attached to diagnose the error.

PS: I also forgot to mention that I have this odd problem where Windows 7 keeps trying to install IE 11 (even though its already installed) and fails with some error code 9C something. So I went and hid that update in the list of available updates. Tried to un-install IE 11 and re-install it but can't even find it in the list of installed features, so I gave up as I don't ever use it. Just thought to mention it if in case its the culprit here.

Welcome to the 7forums.

Please visit Windows Update and install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

Please check your manufacturer for drivers for the GPU.
The Nvidia Video driver has been flagged.

Hi

First of all, I'd like to thank and apologize to axe0. Thank you for taking the time to go through my crash logs and responding to my post.

I had to move constantly for the last 2 months due to work and I had no free time to check back at the forums (and I had also forgotten the login credentials).

The problem has still not been solved. Even before I checked your response I had uninstalled my Graphics card driver, installed the manufacturer provided driver and then updated it as instructed. But even then I've been having BSOD and random crashes at least 4 to 5 times a day. I have noticed that most often it is when I open too many tabs in Chrome or start doing something that involves a lot of memory like starting a game. Also when it first crashes, it will keep crashing unless I leave the computer switched off for at least 2 hours after which it behaves normally.

Also, sometimes a get an indicator that it is going to crash when my laptop fans start working overtime and starts making a lot of noises (almost like an Aircraft engine whine) but most often it is sudden. Also, the screen experiences a lot of screen-tearing before it crashes and you can hear static in the speakers. Sometimes everything freezes and I get no power in my peripherals (like mouse etc). When it does experience one of the sudden crashes, there is a clicking noise ( more like a fusion between a squeak and a click) that can be heard from the laptop. All these things make me suspect some kind of hardware problem, but I would be extremely grateful if the folks here can give me their expert opinion.

I have no pending windows update left other than the windows 10 upgrade that I'm leery of starting with the condition my laptop is in.

I've attached the latest crash logs (and by now I have around 12 or 13 of them) and an image of how the screen tear looks like that I captured with my phone. I hope we can figure out what is the problem with my laptop. Thanks

If you're using any kind of cleanup method or program stop using it.
They remove the dumps which are necessary for troubleshooting.
There are only 3 dumps in the zip.

Are you switching between GPU's?
Both the GPU drivers have been flagged.

Due to the huge amount of different bluescreens and some might point to hardware problems, I suggest to check Hardware Diagnostics for hardware diagnostics tests.

Yeah, I just noticed that there are only three dumps in the zip, which is odd because I'm sure the previous one I created using the DM log had at least 12. But I did use Glary Utilities to clean my computer a few days back, so you may have a point there.

As for the GPUs, I never switch between them. I always use my nVidia GPU. The laptop does come with a manual switch to choose between the two which I never touch. Like I mentioned in my first post, I had to re-install everything when I switched back to Windows 7 from Windows 10 and that included the Intel drivers.

I'll run the Hardware diagnostics in the evening and let you know. I'm too frustrated to do it now as the laptop just crashed again just as I started responding to your reply. Personally a part of me just wants to take it and give it to the lenovo support center but the problem is that they will take at least 2 months to fix it

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to help me out. I'll get back to you as soon as I run those tests.
