BSOD ntoskrnl.exe troubles (I think)

Greetings to all

I went from Vista Ultimate 64 to W7 Pro 64 about a week ago a since then I have been having BSOD troubles over a LOOOOONG time. (Had one during I was writing a post here a few minutes ago too, maybe my PC doesn't like me complaining )

Anyways you can get my PC specs from my profile. It is usually overclocked but I set to defaults the last time it BSOD to see if it will stop, so I guess I'll see in awhile if it worked) I must add that the machine ran those OC settings without a problem for the whole time I was using Vista.

The AV/FW product I use is ZA Extreme Security 2010 and usually uTorrent runs in the background too.

The BSODs happen randomly but on several occasions during gaming (CoD 4) and watching videos.

I guess it shouldn't be a hardware problem because I didn't have any trouble during the time I used Vista and it started the same day I installed W7 Pro.

I'll also add the dump files to my post, seems most of them are related to the ntoskrnl.exe file.

Anyways if you need more info about the machine, installed drivers, programs or what ever, then just ask.

Hi.

I hate to tell you this, because I am also running ZA Extreme latest beta without problems...

but others have had the same problem you are. I didn't look at the dumps yet because I'm on a different machine than normal.

What you want to do is backup your settings within the program and then completely uninstall it.

Let us know how this goes and when I see the dumps, I'll tell you more about it if I can.

Edit - I just Damewared into my main machine to look for you. It has tcpip.sys error and that definitely points to ZA.

Also, if you've applied any patches to the network stack, undo them...like for unlimited half-open connections, etc....

OK not a big surprise, I was thinking about ZA too because it's probably messing around with the system files the most. Anyways I'll wait till you or someone else has time to check out the dump files and if it confirms the suspicions I'll uninstall it.

Nope, haven't modified anything network related. The network card is the one integrated on the motherboard and it's using drivers W7 found for it - Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller (NDIS6.20)

But if you think it's probably still ZA related, then I'll uninstall it, but before I must find something else to use instead

Anyways thanks to you torrentg

You're welcome. Yeah, I knew it was ZA before even looking at crash dump.

Are you using the latest beta like me here?

Version 9.1.007.000?

No, I have the regular Extreme Security trial (not the Hard Drive Encryption Edition but the usual one) currently installed and the version is 9.1.008.000

Alright, ya. Uninstall the one you have now and install from my link.

You could even probably retain settings by using the backup feature before uninstalling. Clean is better but the settings themselves aren't going to give bsod, most likely.
