Spontaneous, repeated reboots with occasional BSOD

All of the dump files are corrupt again so there's nothing I can analyse. Is this a work PC considering it's running Enterprise?

About 75% of the abends I suffered caused BSODs that just sat there staring at me. They claimed they were taking a dump but the HDD activity LED was off. On occasion, because I wasn't in the room, the system sat idle on the BSOD for a number of minutes. When I returned, I cycled power. No doubt, this is the source of the corrupted dumps. The rest of the time, it appeared that the system did manage to write a dump to the HDD, and then it went ahead and rebooted on its own. Or it simply rebooted without generating a BSOD. But the preponderance of failures did not seem to take proper dumps so this kind of got in our way here.

So anyway, this problem is solved. You can see how in my System Specs. Along the way I have blundered my way to losing 2 of my 3 data partitions (backups are 6 months old . . . bad on me) and I managed to make not one but TWO Windows 7 boot partitions unbootable. And oh by the way, SYSPREP failed to prep my sys. So now I'm back up, more or less, on Windows 7 Professional x64 on a new system. (I was running Enterprise because that's what my friend had for installing where he works, and that's what he gave me. But it's a home system.) I quite frankly don't care what the root cause of this problem was because now I have an even nicer system. But I do appreciate your diligence here. I'll expect no less in the future.

I stumbled across this antique thread & realized I never posted what the problem was with the Dell system I had been gifted by my buddy. I think it was maybe a year after all this was going on that he finally got around to diagnosing the problem. And it was probably a year after that that I thought to ask him about it. It turns out that a condenser on the motherboard had gone bad. That's why the system kept spontaneously rebooting, leaving me no useful up time & forcing me to build myself a proper system. Using real money. A system I am still using. Proving once again, you get what you pay for.
