    Do you mean windows recovery or is there a rescue media that you recommend?

    It is always good to create rescue media
    If you are able to boot the recovery partition, try from there to scan the e-drive
    Else try from the media.

    I'm not sure as I have never done it, but I would think Windows recovery should be able to do so.
