I have connected it to my lcd tv ( external monitor) using its hdmi cable which seems to be working normal. Actually the last few times when my laptop monitor was turning on fine i was gettimg the same bands on the screen.. after which the laptop screen stopped turning on.

Are you able to run the DM Log Collector tool and upload the zip file?
If so, please do so, I would like to check a few things.

Too bad, I hoped there was something different then the GPU.

Are you able to see the BIOS on the monitor?

If you haven't done it yet, please make sure the BIOS is set to load the optimal settings.

Tried that but no luck. I did a diagnostic test for graphics.. the graphics hardware test passed while the graphics - video memory read write test failed. Moreover I noticed when i take a printscreen the bands dont appear in the copied image.

Just noticed the system info file is empty.
Have you installed updates from Windows Update lately?

Yes I had updated 2 days back. I use CC cleaner at times. Could that be a reason?

Moreover there was a windows 10 upgrade option and I had tried to install it but it failed. This happened about a month or two back

Please check your manufacturer for BIOS updates, I can't check it myself
