BSOD - Only when waking up from SLEEP - 0x000000F4

Hi BSOD team and fellow members,

I've just done a fresh install on a PC Desktop I bought not too long ago, but only recently had a bit more time to play with it.

My problem is that it will go to sleep fine, but every time it wakes, it crash with a BSOD without fail after about 5 secs each time, bang smack on about the same time, every time.

It boots up fine, shutdowns fine, it even comes out of hibernation fine. I've had it on for a few hours and no BSOD. As long as I don't put it to SLEEP, all is fine.

As mentioned it's a fresh install with only the drivers, MS Essentials, & Firefox installed.

I have tried a few setting changes that I have googled before I tried here: -
Hard Drive to NEVER sleep,
power from 'Balanced' to 'High Performance',
Enabled the HIPM and DIPM [tutorial here at sevenforums],
rechecked all the power cables and SATA cables, even swapped them around from the SSD to HDD [i have 2 drives]
Made sure nothing was plugged into the USB ports other than my mouse and keyboard.

FYI....Haven't applied any Windows updates as yet.

I take it the minidump did not reveal something more definitive??

Just a little baffled as to why this is only happening on wake up from SLEEP and nothing else. Waking up from hibernate, booting in cold, and general use, there is no BSOD? Can corrupt drivers or possible infection really isolate the crashes this way? Obviously I'm no expert, but trying to get a better understanding of this error???

Ok, ran the sfc scan and it came up with - Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation


Other things I tried in the meantime:

* Swapped all the drive sata ports but still happens no matter which port the boot drive is plugged in.
* Ran the system with only the main boot drive [SSD] while i had the other stroage drive and the Blueray unplugged, still got a BSOD crash when it woke from SLEEP.

Did a few tries and noticed on each wake from "SLEEP" after about 10 sec each time, system seems to be trying to load something as the cursor changes to a spinning circle, and after a further few seconds it crashes with a BSOD. Seems the sequence is exactly the same each time.

I will mention again it comes out of "hibernation" fine.

* Ran a FULL system scan with Malwarebytes, MS Security Essentials, and MS Malicious software removal tool just incase of an infection, but all clean!!

As my previous post, this is still a fresh install, and I haven't installed any of the windows updates yet. Should I go ahead and do this??

Also I should note under Device Manager - Other Device : there are two devices that need what I assume drivers. (1) Marvell 91xx Config ATA Device and (2) BCM20702A0

I hope this is a bit more info to go on with to narrow this down?

If you mean the Windows key, I believe it came with the Desktop from the previous owner.

Why, is there a problem with my key?

Sorry, I don't quite follow.

The computer was build using selected parts as per my specs, although I'm not the original owner I bought it as is.

I've check the key and its genuine. I did the re-install using the key I got of the BIOS using Belarc advisor and have activated it online with Microsoft.

What part of all this is a counterfeit installation???

What does that "part" exactly mean, as I do not quite understand ? Are you suggesting my product key is not genuine???

From what I have told you, I am quite positive everything is genuine with my computer, including the product key.
