    BSOD error code 116 caused by atikmpag.sys


    Hi. Before this recent blue screen I've encountered, I had posted a thread before, with sgfxk64.sys causing the blue screen. Anyways, I decided for my laptop to be reformatted again and as usual, we need to find drivers for my laptop. Unfortunately, after installing the graphics driver for my system, BSODs appeared after restarting. Any suggestions or fixes that I can do for this issue? Thanks in advance.

    Hi regingtripor,

    Please re-run the tool again, there are several files missing.
    Before you upload the zip file again, please verify it contains the following files
    • 19 .txt
    • 1 .nfo

    The AMD video drivers are old, they need updating or reinstallation.
    Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from your manufacturer.

    That's my problem, really. My laptop has switchable graphics, AMD and Intel. I cannot install drivers from different manufacturers because I don't know how both of them would be compatible.

    With manufacturer, I mean the manufacturer of your laptop.
    In your case it is HP.

    To make it shortly, you only need to install drivers from HP, any other method will give you problems.

    The drivers I downloaded came from the HP support page. I can't find any other sites that has updated graphics drivers for my laptop. And I think it is impossible to install both drivers that are there because it has AMD and Intel drivers, and the AMD one is already packaged with an Intel graphics driver.

    Why would you think it's impossible? It's from the manufacturer, that's the point of getting them there rather than the AMD or Intel site.

    If you read the Intel description, it just enables the one packaged with the AMD driver and has an HDMI audio driver if supported.

    That's why they bundle them together and why you should always use the laptop manufacturer for drivers, they know what works on them.
