    BSOD 0x00000F4 , randomly

    Hi ,

I started have this issue with my alienware laptop , I took it to a store and the guy said the graphics card was over heating and so he replaced it ; The laptop worked for a day then started failing again. Windows has now been installed maybe 5-6 times fresh , Without drivers installed (except the wireless) runs without issue , as soon as the graphics drivers are installed , works ok but often blue screens to 0x0000000000f4....

The guy at the store , basically doesnt want to deal with it , turning me away saying that it is a "driver issue" however i cannot understand how it could be a driver issue every single install.........

Attached is BSOD picture. Any advice ideas would be great , Im assuming it is hardware

Hello, jjstar and welcome to the forums. I need you to do a couple of things for me.

Please fill out your System Specs

       Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

Please upload the BSOD Posting Instructions https://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. Upload the files here, this will tell you how. https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

Also, open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

In your first post, you said your graphics card was replaced. You have Intel HD400 graphics listed in your system specs. That is on board graphics from your CPU. Do you also have a dedicated graphics card?

there is its a Nvidia GTX 660-670M i cant remember either one of those , However - when I install the drivers for the Hd4000 graphics thats when the issue normally occurs , If I fresh install windows and only instal the network driver ( as i have now so i can reuse my Pc) then i never get the blue screen. So before i ever even install any other drivers including the Nvidia it has issues. If i install the Nvidia drivers without the hd4000 driver then the pc freezes and becomes unuseable... I dont exsactly know why its weird like that...... as for the Seatools Ill try that I have a usb somewhere.
