I was using the driver verifier to try to find the end to an issue with intermittent BSOD while normally operating my computer. Initially my windows explorer wouldn't open at all. Even trying to access files through programs caused appcrash. After running SFC, explorer opened and I was able to navigate as needed but my video player, GOM, would not work and additionally after uninstall it wouldn't install. Also no other program would let me install. I don't remember exactly what I did to get it to the state its in now but I did a memory check, every other windows repair tool, and basically anything I could to get the thing running again. I don't have a system restore point before this started happening. I've tried everything I can to try and fix this problem on my own and have probably made things worse for myself in the meantime. The computer currently works and hasn't crashed again since the wake from sleep but Im not going to let that happen again for obvious reasons. Included is the zipped file as requested. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can try updating to this one,

Did you install the 64bit OS? A 2GB RAM system usually comes with 32bit.

You have way too much starting up with your computer on 2GB RAM.

All you really need starting with your system is your AV.

I installed the driver but the same error occurred. should I have uninstalled the rapid start first then installed that one? I will try that. Also, is there any reason that I shouldn't just leave it uninstalled?

I bought the laptop with 64 bit windows installed. I always planned on installing more ram at a later date when the price went down, then honestly forgot all about it till now.

Is there a good way to go about reducing the amount of programs on startup? Could my minimal amount of RAM cause this driver error? I'll search the forum and see what I find.
