BSOD while playing or browsing (PFN List + IRQL) + Dumps

Hello helpers of sevenforums,

I have a BSOD issue for a couple of weeks now, probably a corrupt driver that is causing it.
(Memtest did not find anything after extensive testing)

Whenever I start playing resource intensive games or when I am browsing the internet and load multiple tabs at once (which is quite cpu intensive) I sometimes get one of two different blue screens, "PFN List Corrupt" or "IRQL not less or equal".
It also sometimes happens at low resource usage but rarely.

When this happens and my computer restarts it is possible for one of those blue screens to pop up at the windows boot logo. What makes me pretty sure that this is a driver problem is because windows will not boot up when using driver verifier (correctly configured). It is not giving me a BSOD, it just restarts at the boot logo.

I have no clue which driver could cause this issue, the problem also still occurs when I uncheck all startup entries.
I hope you can help me here.

Small update: I just noticed my uxpatch.sys (for unsigned windows themes) caused the boot loop when using the verifier. I can now use the verifier again and test the drivers.

Hi draknador,

Welcome to the 7forums.

I suggest you check Windows Update for updates, install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.
Windows 10 update is a decision I leave to you.
You have only 29 hotfixes while some have around 200 or even 400

Okay I will do that then.

I did not update because my computer runs well right now except for some minor hardware problems every now and then. Also I did not want custom settings to reset or be changed (if the updates even do that which I'm not sure of). But losing custom settings is still better than having compatibility or OS related issues so its definitely worth doing.

Thanks for the suggestion, that might just be the answer.

Updates don't change the Update settings, or there is a buggy update.

I strongly recommend you to check every update of what they exactly do.
This so you'll know what happens when you install them, some fixes bluescreens, others increase the performance, others the stability, others add functionality, others increase the security etc.
There are tons of reasons to keep your system up to date and for some just a few reasons not to, although the risk of a security breach or other important problem would then be incredibly high.
