Freezing/BSOD - PFN_LIST or memory problem?
My computer is about five years old, custom build (from the internet, I'm not that savvy!), works mostly fine. Today, I've had a range of different crashes.
First was while playing KOTOR 2; computer froze and emitted constant beep. Had to power off to stop
Since then, it's only sporadically booting. Sometimes it gets to the POST beep and sometimes not. If it does get that far, only runs for a while (no more than 20 minutes so far) before freezing again. Doesn't seem to matter what I do (once in game, then when running a backup, then twice just on startup after the desktop was visible). I've only had two actual BSODs; the first said PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, the second MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I'll try and record the 0x codes the next time I get any.
The only thing I've installed lately is KOTOR 2, which has run fine for a few days until now.
I've tried to use Driver Verifier, but the computer wouldn't restart for several tries after I ran it
My second BSOD was on trying to get into safe mode to run Verifier a second time. Later managed to get into safe mode, but then it froze on me after 5 minutes.
Not had the constant beep sound since the first crash
What should I do next? With my computer barely functional, I'm not sure how much I can get in the way of diagnostic logs
