    Unexpected Shutdown

Unexpected shutdown - Win7 Pro 32-bit. First time on this O/S. Windows updates completed. Hobby project: Dell Latitude C640; 2GB RAM; NEW 60GB hdd. When Win7 Ultimate was installed (a previous thread), I checked memory sticks independently with Win 7 memory checker -- all was okay. Would someone please analyze and point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Please run the DM Log Collector again, there are several files missing.
Before uploading, check if the content is at least
    • 18 .txt,
    • 1 .nfo,
    • 1 or more dump files

If this is NOT the case, try booting in safe mode and run the tool again.

    What OS was previously installed?
Your BIOS dates from 2004, 5 years before Windows 7 was released.

Dell says the unit shipped 1/15/2003 with XP Pro. The counterfeit Windows 7 Ultimate OS was installed when I purchased the unit on eBay. Strange, but the laptop has what appears to be a good "Windows 7" decal on the lower right hand side of the laptop , right next to the "Intel Pentium Inside" decal. Obviously another fake. I updated the BIOS to the A10 (latest) version after I received the unit, before I installed Win7 Pro.

Besides of the BIOS, I cannot real quick find something else then checking your memory.
This time prefered to run MemTest86+, the built-in feature isn't really as good as MemTest86+

    Diagnostic Test

     RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

       Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.
