BSOD Error 0x000000F4 plus explorer exe error

    Hi experts.

I have been having problems lately with my Dell Vostro 3550. First, the windows updates would not apply successfully. Once that happened, my wireless network adapter is not popping up. When I do checks on Device Manager it says its working properly. After this, I was receiving windows error message bad image system 32 authz.dll. Luckily, I found a solution on this forum and this is not popping up anymore. It only pops up when I try to do a regedit command. Also, my microsoft paint does not work. Since I tried using paint, every time I boot my computer I get the black screen with the cursor on it. I have to cmd explorer it to get my desk top visible again. I hope this helps describe the problems I have been having.

I read somewhere that it could be an virus and to use MalwareBytes and Microsoft Security Essentials.

When I run these programs I get errors and I receive the Blue Screen with the error codes.

I am uploading all pictures I took with my phone. Hopefully, this can help you guys. I am also loading the dump files using the program the forum told me to use.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks a lot. Appreciate all the help I can get.

    Code:
    Event[13157]:

      Event ID: 51
      Task: N/A
      Level: Warning
      Opcode: N/A
      Keyword: Classic
      User: N/A
      User Name: N/A
      Computer: Money_Maker
      Description:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR3 during a paging operation.
The zip file is incomplete and there are no .dmp files to analyse. This, the 0xF4 error you described, and the entry quoted above in the eventlog, are usually symptomatic of hard disk issues. Thats my best estimate of the issue given the limited information I have to work with.

I recommend you backup all your data, then replace the hard disk as soon as possible.

Hi Golden. Is there a way to test the hard disk? Also, is there any programs I can use to backup all the data and programs?

    Thanks for your help.

Use Macrium to image the HDD. Then restore that image to a new HDD.

Use the DOS version of SeaTools to test the disk....search the Tutorial section of our forums for the SeaTools tutorial.

    Hi Forum,

I am back with another issue. I was trying to do the Macrium Reflect image and it would not let me.It keep saying Volume Shadow Service error. I gave up on fixing this laptop but recently the laptop started working with certain things again. Examples are my wireless internet started connecting again and i am now able to use regedit. Once this happen, I tried to use the Macrium Reflect again but to no prevail, same error. Also, I tried running my Kaspersky Service and it will give me a blue screen when it reaches a certain point in the scan. Also, on the right bottom corner it says windows is not an genuine copy which is weird as dell loaded it so it should be OEM. I also have received an Kernal Data Error a few times plus my computer wont shut down so I have to hold the power button for it to turn off. I am still having an explorer.exe issue as well as I get the black screen with just the mouse on it when I turn the computer on and ctrl +alt +delete does not work either. I am adding an new dump file hopefully it helps to figure out the issues. I know a lot of issues but wanted to describe everything with it. Not sure if related to each other or not.

Thanks a million again. This forum is great. Really helps. You guys are great.

Unfortunately that means that the disk is about to fail permanently - there is no way of determining when, and the only solution is to replace it with a brand new one.

Use this tutorial to copy any user data to an external drive:
Peppermint Live CD/DVD/USB - Create for Emergency Backup

Download this Macrium WinPE ZIP file, extract the ISO file from it, write it to a bootable USB drive using something like YUMI or Rufus, then boot from it and try to image the existing disk:
