Atikmdag.sys BSOD im going literaly insane over 300 webpages and stil

    Good eavening to all,

I have a HP Pavillion dv-6c75la it was runing great a week ago, i was playing world of warcraft when all of the sudden my pc shut off, * i didnt notice my laptop wasntt plugged and the battery ran out.

When i restart the PC i found a atikmdag.sys BSOD ill be adding a screenshot of it.

i formated my windows, removed all partitions did a fresh windows 7 ultimate x64 install, after setup was complete i installed the OEM driver for the GPU and same error after restart. atikmdag.sys BSOD

    what i tryied so far
    1. DDU after every drive i install
    2. delete the atikmdag.sys files from win32 drivers folder, and expana.exe the file located in AMD/*driver and replace the deleted one
    3. I open the laptop, took every piece apart to make sure it wasnt dirt

    Plz see attachment.

    regards.

    Mike

Hello and welcome Mike mate I am not sure what you have installed as the install date was 30/11/2015 according to your systeminfo file.

But this dump is indicative of a graphics failure and the usual fix suggested is to uninstall the Catalyst Control Centre (CCC) and run the graphics on the driver the device itself

    ICIT2LOL

Good Morning, thank you for your response i just did the following, I used DDU to uninstall all ATI/AMD drivers in safemode, after it reset, i used AMD clean up utility in regular mode to ensure nothing was being left behind. and restart,

The 2 Devices appeared as VGA cards,
I installed the OEMs driver SP54992, wich after the install the devices appeared as,
    device 1: HD 7690M
    device 2: HD 6620M

then a pop up stated that i needed to restart in order for the driver to go in effect and received another BSOD please see attachment of this BSOD

*previous to logging in windows i went into safemode, disabled device 2. and i was able to get start up windows regular with out a BSOD but now both devices under drivers have the legend " Windoes has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

the device 2 is currently disabled.

Thank you in advance for your time and the support.

Mike am not sure what you mean by the OEM driver - except it is the Windows install loadings drivers.

The driver for you graphics is this one HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support but if the machine not runnign ofr any length o ftime then it is hard to see how to install it from saya stick or the net.

If you cannot get to od this I might ask for help.

    Hi mikebar,

Also a welcome to the 7forums from me :)

Even though ICIT2LOL didn't ask for it (yet), I'll jump in to see if I can assist with ICIT2LOL.

Because the most recent crashes are system_service_exception I would like to rule out the memory using MemTest86+ to ensure the memory isn't passing corrupted data.

    Diagnostic Test

     RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

       Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

I understand you have used DDU after each driver, but have you also removed everything of the AMD graphics and only installed the drivers? If you haven't, please try it.
Please uninstall everything of AMD graphics using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from your manufacturer. Be sure to ONLY install the drivers

    Thank you for your Responses,

    Icit2lol
OEM i mean the Original Equipment Manufacturers, that means i installed the driver for the Video cards Directly from the HP Driver download Page, in this case the driver pack for my Video card according to my model this is the link and this is my pc Descargas de software y controladores HP para impresoras, PC portátiles, PC de escritorio y otros productos HP | Soporte al cliente de HP®

After i installed this driver, i get the BSOD, in order to bypass it i have to log in safe mode and disable one of the devices, *note this Laptop has 2 devices as stated above: plz see Attachment of Devices provided.

The driver you provided in the link, is the OEM driver i was mentioning that i installed.

    Axe0
i will run the mem test as you stated, if there is somehting else i can try meanwhile plz let me know, as i will be runing the memtest at night as you recomended.

What graphics card have you mainly used?
Are you switching between your graphics cards?

The switch feature for graphics cards with laptops is a good idea, but I haven't seen it good implemented. Due to the bad implementation it causes problems if one uses both the graphics cards in a laptop.

Seeing it is a laptop, you can always assume it is the manufacturer in that case
