Hi guys the scan is over half way through its 2nd pass and it's found over 300 errors on the Kingston 4gb card should I leave this scanning or change to the other card thanks
Test the card in the other slot if you haven't yet.
After the scan is finished or errors have been found, do the same with the other stick.
Note the results of the scans to find out what is causing problems.
Thanks axe0 the 4gb Kingston was showing over 300 errors in both slots I am just running the 2gb on its second pass on the bottom slot with no errors showing up to now ......how long should I leave this running before I change slots with the 2gb thx
No need for more tests, we have confirmed that it's the 4GB stick that's failing. Replace it.
Thanks guys the 2gb is on its 3rd pass 0 errors up to now should I leave it running or try it in the other slot thanks ....also just going back a few posts about replacing the sticks on opening the laptop I had 1 x 2gb and 1 x 4gb sticks is this normal and when I replace the 4gb how will I know it's compatability with the 2gb I leave in or should I just put a new kit of 2 in and what size ...sorry for all the questions but I would like to get it right before buying them
Well, that could be possible, but i don't really think so.
I don't know if size difference could be bad, but the most important thing is to make sure the make and model are the same :)
Yeah, i was gonna say that but i was in school and we were watching a movie so i had to hurry a little, because i suck at typing at my phone.
