Just for a test, when you do the clean install, let Windows install as many drivers as it will and use those. Do not install any software at all, use Microsoft Security essentials ((http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/security-essentials-download) for an AV. Install the Nvidia driver, but select Custom install, make sure the 'Clean Install' box is checked and install only the Display Driver and the PhysX driver, nothing else. See if that is any better. Just as close to a pure Windows install and nothing else as we can get. Then run all of the Updates. You may have to install the LAN driver if Windows doesn't.
