Read following tutorial for fixing the errors: SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot
NoteThis can be performed in Windows
When I boot from the windows instalation disc, after the "press any key do begin", the disc runs for a while. But before getting to step 1 on the tutorial, I get another BSOD. This time with error 0x7B.
Does that mean I have a hardware problem?
It doesn't per se mean a hardware problem
The 0x7B is usual caused by:
- Hard drive,
- File system,
- Boot sequence errors,
- Device driver,
- Virus infection (in particular check the MBR)
I would suggest to read Troubleshooting stop 0x7B and stop 0xED. for this error,
skip the BIOS parts
