    BSOD While playing games x124

Hey for the last few months I have been having this BSOD x124 and have tried everything to fix it I have replaced the powersupply, taken out gpu/ram individually, replaced mobo, temps are fine, ran memtest no errors nothing is working. At this point I am 90% sure its the CPU i just dont want to spend $300+ until im sure of it. Also the mobo i had before this new one had 6 bent pins where the CPU goes (im not the one that installed the CPU) so after figuring that out i thought the new mobo would be the fix but it didnt fix it. Could the bent pins on the old mobo have caused the CPU to have problems?

Edit: I forgot to mention something I had my CPU overclocked to 4.4ghz and got the BSOD x124 screen. But ever sense I reset it to normal clock in BIOS I dont see the bluescreen often at all instead the PC will just lock up and I will have to hold the power button for 5 seconds or the screen will just go black for 2 seconds and the PC will just restart.

    Hi Cruze.

In your event log there is an entry saying that the your CPU is having heat issues..

So please open up the case and check the cooler if it is placed in the right way, also check the thermal paste!

And there is also a BIOS update but we will leave that as a last step!

    Cheers! Boris :)

Well when I had the new mobo installed about a month ago there was new thermal paste and everything. And when I have RealTemp open the temps look fine while playing games.

    Hi Cruze,

well then go ahead and do the BIOS update, not that I'm positive that it will 100% solve the issue but it's worth a try.

Im almost positive it couldn't be BIOS only because it happend with the old mobo and this new one got installed like 3-4 weeks ago. I doubt there is even a update.

Please verify all MSI software has been removed.

A read error on the level 0 cache of the CPU, consistent on every dump I have checked.
Although this might be incorrect as the CPU is reporting the error with 0x124 crashes, I would still suggest to test your CPU.
Persistent crashes usually give a good indication of what the root cause might be.

    Diagnostic Test

Run Prime95 and IntelBurnTest to stress test your CPU. Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 7 Forums & CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest

Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.

Ya i totally forgot to mention that i already ran Prime95 and IntelBurn and was only able to reach high on IntelBurn and the PC would crash after a few minutes. Also the temps were around 75-90 Celcius which people told me they should be alot lower with the cooler I have. But when im just playing games the Temps are fine and never go above 60.

What cooling system and CPU cooler do you have?
Also please add your PSU in your system specs.

To answer this question, yes it could, please check your CPU for any damage.
Could the bent pins on the old mobo have caused the CPU to have problems?
