New computer, AFK BSOD, help me find my bad driver

I have a brand new Dell Precision 7710 that is to be my CAD machine. I have not used it much yet, but I am plagued by BSOD when I am not anywhere near the computer.

I just did the Dell Factory Reset which sets it back to the factory install image, and ran the recommended updates from Dell Support. The computer also ran Windows Update on its own a few times. I have installed Chrome and Solidworks 2014, AVG Free, and SugarSync so far. No hardware other than a mouse.

During the driver updates, I did get some crashes, notably from AMD driver updates. The one from their website worked the best. Solidworks has a recommended driver that is older.

I also disabled Sleep and Hibernate, because I was having issues where the computer would not wake up from sleep. I do not know if this is related.

It appears that the driver STMicroelectronics 3-Axis Digital Accelerometer is causing some problem, and the Intel RAID driver is contributing in it.

I dont know which one of your installed program is causing the STMicroelectronics 3-Axis Digital Accelerometer driver. If you have the idea, uninstall the program and see how it goes. Check for those programs which are installed by you after buying the PC.

Let us know about your progress.

I finally restored to the Factory image, and updated Dell recommended drivers, and disabled non-important devices (like the ST 3-axis). BSODs and occasional backlight-on black screens after idle kept happening.

Dell is having me send it in for a hardware check. It even would BSOD during safe mode. Ironically the easiest way to get a crash is to launch SupportAssist.

    Thanks for your help!
