BSOD when using WMC during TV Setup during "Examining TV signal"

This has been an ongoing issue when I try to setup my cable cards in Windows Media Center. It downloads the local guide data, then it goes into the "Examining TV Signals" portion of the setup. Sometimes it will just freeze the PC and more commonly, I get a BSOD.

    I have two different cards.
    1. Hauppauge WinTV HVR‑2255
    2. Unsure... Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_AC00&SUBSYS_B3591002&REV_00

Please help as I am at a total loss.

    Hi and welcome.

Usually this type of problem is caused by a driver. Do you have the latest drivers installed for your TV cards?

    Hi CB,

just as pbcopter said it's usually due to outdated drivers, I looked through your files and your graphic card drivers were quite old, it seems there hasn't been an update done on them since 2013, but no worries here are the latest ones for your card:

    Drivers | GeForce

    Cheers, Boris :)

Thanks pbcopter & Borris... I'm not sure which driver update resolved it, but I did both... Thanks for your input!
