BSOD update.

So I run sfc /scannow as admin and the machine will get a BSOD everytime, around 85-90% complete. The interesting bit is if I run in safe mode sfc /scannow completes and no BSOD ( I tried it twice to be sure )

As previously stated, McAfee is removed, Windows 7 ulimate with the current updates installed

Yeah.

There are two ways at attempting to fix this after the changes you already made:

1) Use the spt tab of CPU-Z to tell you the exact model number of the RAM modules.
Then visit the RAM maker's site for the modules and write down the correct Vdimm (RAM voltage) and timings.

Go into the bios and adjust accordingly. Perhaps, update the bios itself before doing this. Then set the correct values.

Sometimes, if you visit the forum of the RAM maker, there will be users saying things on how to stabilize the system.

2) For testing purposes to see if it still occurs, try running with 4 GB or so RAM instead of 12.

Let us know if this has helped in any way. Based on what you say, we'll try to take it from there.

I will check those, but I didn't think it would be memory related as it ran the windows memory test for 24 hours and memtest for 24 hrs and did not have any errors

I understand, but it's getting "memory corruption" errors and all the drivers look alright.

Sometimes, even a lengthy test isn't sufficient to pick up on errors.

I think I have found the problem. Using msconfig.exe I disabled a startup item, 'JMB36X IDE Setup'. The system has been running over 24 hrs now without a BSOD. Since I only have SATA drives I am guessing leaving this disabled will not cause any problems (none seen as of yet)
