Sudden, Unexplained BSOD with No Text
Hi, I hope someone can help.
I posted a similar query in January as this was when I first encountered the issue.
At the time I thought the problem was connected to my Xbox controller as the BSOD occurred
after I plugged it into the USB port. However, this time the BSOD occurred while I was reading an online article at telegraph.co.uk. My laptop's screen suddenly went black while I was halfway through the article. It then displayed what looked like a BSOD, only there was no text, just lots of constantly changing, multi-coloured rows of pixels. After a few seconds I heard a couple of very faint pops or clicks, and the laptop rebooted itself along with a screen saying Windows hadn't shut down properly. I made a note of the errors Windows displayed afterwards in case they're useful:
Problem Event Name: Blue Screen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
BCCode: a
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF8000367C732
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\030516-28735-01.dmp
C:\Users\Chrissie\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-76502-0.sysdata.xml
I've run a full scan with McAfee which found nothing. I ran a scan with MBAM which found a generic PUP,
which it quarantined. I don't think the PUP caused this as I ran a scan the first time this happened and MBAM found nothing that time. Apart from these odd occurrences, everything else seems to be working normally. My laptop is a Dell Studio 17 running Windows 7 64bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
