    Multiple BSOD after clean install

    First, very slick BSOD tool!

I installed a new WD 2TB HD and performed a clean install of Win 7 with service pack 1 slip-streamed. I was surprised to get multiple BSOD on my Dell Studio XPS 8100. I have researched this for the past week and found:

Malwatebytes caused BAD POOL HEADER BSOD and I have uninstalled and that went away.

Bitdefender seems to be causing PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I have not uninstalled as yet.

Win 7 System drivers seen to have caused the remaining errors.

There have been no hardware changes other than HD upgrade and new memory. The Dell would occasionally have a BSOD before the clean install mostly related to memory which I have replaced.

I have performed a Dell system diag and nothing failed. Also, I have run Memtest 4.1 and have not received a error.

I thought by completing a new clean install, the BSOD would go away, but I am on my 3rd and would like to have the team here help as I am out of immediate solutions.

All drivers are the latest possible as well - Thanks in advance for your help as I plan to keep the PC.

A lot of various different drivers are failing. And all them are fairly old, aged similar to the computer (around 2010). It gives a hint that you installed those from a driver CD.

Fixing the individual drivers will not be very easy, because Dell also does not have the latest drivers listed for this product. Dell Studio XPS 8100 Desktop Details | Dell

I would suggest you the following:
    1. Go to the Dell's link and get the Broadcom network driver. Save it somewhere other than C drive.
    2. Perform another clean reinstall.
    3. Dont use the driver CD. Just install the network driver (previously downloaded and saved) and nothing else.
    4. For the other drivers, follow Device Installation Settings and use the windows suggested updates.
    5. Keep away from Intel Rapid Storage. The native AHCI controller will do good for you.

Finally, as I am seeing some issue with the antivirus too .....
    fffff880`084f66c8 fffff880`014204c8Unable to load image \??\C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Firewall\bdfwfpf.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for bdfwfpf.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for bdfwfpf.sys
    bdfwfpf+0x204c8
I would suggest you to go with a problem-free antivirus like Microsoft Security Essentials.

See hoe it goes. Let us know.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

First on the drivers - I downloaded all the current from Dell support, not from the CD.

This is why I am so confused. The drivers were fine on the previous install. I always keep my drivers current.

Regarding AHCI - the BIOS dosen't support it, which really limits my upgrade options.

Regarding the Bitdefender (and Malwarebytes) - On the previous install they worked fine no BSOD, I don't understand why they do not work now.

I can fix the Bitdefender issue. It just seems odd that all of a sudden I get all these BSOD for OEM drivers on a OEM Win 7 machine.

I have to think something else is going on for that much to fail.

    Thanks again!

Revisit Product Support | Dell US and check the Release Dates of the driver they have. Those are not updates, mate.

That's sad. There should be SATA/IDE mode? Use it then.

    Thanks

If Dell drivers are old, then it is what they have listed (PC is from 2010). Before the Clean install I downloaded every current driver needed. I do not even have the original disk.

So, I assume you are saying the OEM drivers are causing the BSOD. I am only using the chipset drivers and Broadcom. The chipset are from Intel and I can find the Broadcom manufacturer.

I have not gone to the manufacturers since it is recommended that Dell may have some customization.

As I said, I was hoping to find a more systemic cause as the PC was fine before the clean install. I've not had any BSOD's when I clean installed before ( I do this yearly).

    Thanks for your time.

Their is a possibility that your slip/streamed that you created is not proper and correct.

I have said that much that I can see in your uploaded files, mate. If you want more, that is beyond my capability. I will not be able to do it.

Hope somebody with more closer insight will be here to guide you.
