Bsod driver_power_failure
Recent updates that require a reboot take 10+ minutes to shut down, then a message recovered from unexpected error and system more or less normal.
ACPIx64 (Samsung R480 with new solid state HD ~2 years ago).
BSOD problem started about a week ago when installed Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (for remote work related use). System shutting down seemed to be perpetual state (more than 10 minutes).
I created a 2nd user account (with admin privs), uninstalled and reinstalled the Cisco app. Still had BSOD, typically choosing to restart in normal (always same BSOD--see Problem Sig and BCP output below-- only BCP3 and BCP4 change with each occurence).
A few days later, the Cisco needed to update and had update issues. Again, I uninstalled and reinstalled this app -- after downgrading the 2nd user account to User privs.
What I see as a problem (ongoing since forever. 3 or 4 years) is Network Adapters. My network (internet) is wireless, supplied through my SmartPhone, which looks like any of the available networks for (wireless) internet access. If I go out of range with my phone (walk into the yard) when my laptop is connected and on, reconnecting is problematic--sometimes the internet icon has a yellow star, sometimes a red X, and sometimes clicking the icon opens the Wireless Network Connection dialog box, sometimes not. If I use Control Panel Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center, it may say that I have no networks available. Until I restart.
Device Manager lists 4 Network Adapters:
- Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64
- Marvell Yukon 88E8040 Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
- Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter
- Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter
Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center
Lists 1 computer and 2 Media Devices (my two user accounts) (is that typical?)
