BSOD Randomly After Upgrading to 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate

For many years I was running Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. In the past when I occasionally had BSOD problems it was solved by pulling out and reinserting the sata cable that connects my HD to the MoBo. I did not have any BSOD problems for a couple of years until I recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit with the same PC and hardware last month. I have all the latest Microsoft updates. The computer runs fast and fine but will randomly have BSOD problems perhaps 2 or more times a day. I have run a memory test and there are no problems. I have also run Check disk 3 times on the C drive and once on the partitioned D drive on the same HD but the BSOD issue persists. I have put in a new SATA cable and when the computer is off tried removing and reinserting it into the MoBo and HD. It may be helping but the problem persists. I am using a hybrid 2T Seagate drive which is about 1 year and 4 months old and is used regularly. I have attached the necessary dmp and dm log collector files. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards
    Chris

    Hey there!

Your 64-bit copy of Windows must be damaged as it only blames Microsoft drivers. If you haven't already, install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Thanks for your reply. All the latest Microsoft updates have already been installed. I will also try a Windows repair in case that helps. I am not sure if there is any evidence of a driver problem in the crash report. I am also suspecting hard drive communication problems.

Then it's a broken .iso. Get a .iso from a verified source and install it from that.

Thanks, I have run a system file check from a good Win 7 Ultimate SP1 iso from Microsoft. No Windows file errors were found.

The BSOD's occur randomly. Sometimes very quickly or perhaps after many hours. When the computer is booted up from a disk it can run indefinitely without any problems. I suspect a driver or background programme or service is causing the problem. I can't see any pattern yet. The blue screens show different errors each time. eg.

    1- NETIO.sys
    2- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION; fltmgr.sys
    3- win32k.sys
    4- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
    5- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION; afd.sys
    6- BAD_POOL_HEADER

I am not sure what else I can try.

    Kind Regards

There is only 1 dump present which shows the Network Input/Output System driver as the cause which relates to either the network drivers or protection software.

Please remove any AV program and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials and update the BIOS & network drivers from MSI
    Drivers:https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/supp...wn-driver&Win7 64
    BIOS: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/supp...html#down-bios

If you are using a program like Ccleaner please stop using it while troubleshooting.
This because programs like Ccleaner remove dump files that are needed to troubleshoot.
Or configure Ccleaner to not remove dump files:

This is the latest update. Have done a repair (upgrade) installation of Win 7 Ultimate SP1. BSOD occurred during upgrade and continues. Have all the latest updates from Microsoft update. Have confirmed I have the latest BIOS, Motherboard drivers, VGA drivers and Realtec Ethernet drivers. BSOD continues 2-3 times a day randomly. It is not possible to defragment the C or D drive because of BSOD. Uninstalled Norton and installed Microsoft security essentials.

I have attached the latest copy of the DM log. Any further suggestions will be appreciated.

    Kind regards

Here is the latest DM log attached. The blue screens are continuing to occur randomly. Sometimes none in a day and sometimes several. The latest stop errors seem to be 0x0000003B. Your help will be appreciated.

    Kind regards

What I understand is that you do not have the most recent BIOS update?
