Do you have exclusions for Bitdefender in Malwarebytes and for Malwarebytes in Bitdefender?
The instructions for adding files and folders to the Bitdefender Total Security exclusions list is actually on their website at this link:
How to add exceptions in Bitdefender 2014
    =For 32-bit supported OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista / 7 / 8:
You must add the following files to the Bitdefender exclusion list:
    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
    =For 64-bit supported OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8
You must add the following files to the Bitdefender exclusion list:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
Once you get those files added to the exclusion list, that is all that is needed in that application. Save the information and close Bitdefender.
Next, please follow these instructions to add Bitdefender Total Security installation folder to the Malwarebytes Premium “Malware Exclusions” list:
Step 1. Open the Malwarebytes application.
    Step 2. Click on “Settings”
Step 3. Click “Malware Exclusions” in the left column.
Step 4. Click on “Add Folder”
Step 4. Navigate to C:\Program Files
Step 5. Click once on the “Bitdefender Total Security” folder to highlight it.
Step 6. Click on “Select Folder” button.
    Step 7. Close Malwarebytes.
Step 8. Reboot your computer. <—Very Important

I'm not familiar with the driver verifier. Does it run and then generate a report? Does it need any input from me, or just let it go.

    Tom C
You'll notice it running due to performance issues, although this isn't always present. You can also check if it is running by checking the settings: search 'verifier' and choose 'Display existing settings'.

The 'report' it generates is a dump from a BSOD that should be caused by driver verifier, 'should be' because there could be crashes that aren't caused by driver verifier while verifier is running.

What is wanted is a BSOD caused by driver verifier to identify violating drivers.

    Right now verifier has:
    verify these drivers: e1c62x64.sys (Intel)
    ndis.sys (NDIS 6.20 driver)

I'll soon be leaving for a few hours; but I'll be back.

Thanks for your time and expertise, it's a great help.

    Hello twcinnh.

The e1c62x64.sys is the Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection driver and in my first post I linked you the Intel Driver update tool, but maybe you overlooked it, so please run it so that you can find the update for your network port:

Well that driver is version 16 and the latest one you can get from Intel is version 20+ so I'm not really sure why you would want him to download a driver that is outdated.

Updated version aren't always the solution, best is to first try the drivers provided by the mainboard manufacturer because they usually do work better.

This may be the issue many others are having too with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, including myself.
    Malwarebytes says,

    Hi Martijn,
We have discussed this issue with our developers and testers and found that this issue is caused due to a driver issue with the BitDefender program. I see that your PC also has Bit Defender installed. We have found that this issue is a result of an old driver in BitDefender conflicting with Malwarebytes. We are still looking into this.
As a workaround, I am going to suggest to you to uninstall BitDefender and Malwarebytes from your PC.
    Reboot.
Reinstall Malwarebytes, and activate with your license key.
    Reinstall Bit Defender,
Let me know if this helps stop the BSODs.

I'm currently testing a temporary work-around: disabling the Malwarebytes Web Protection (also at startup)
I can't yet say if this helps, I've been having BSODs since 25th last month and tried a few things
    • Repair installation of Bitdefender
    • Clean reinstallation of Malwarebytes a few times
    • Clean reinstallation of Malwarebytes and Bitdefender
    • Adding exclusions for them both I posted earlier

The work-around I'm testing may be confirmed within a few days due to the 'randomness' of occurrence of the BSODs which happened from a 2-3 per few hours per day to 1 per few days.
