BSOD after updating graphics driver, error 0x00000116

Hi! Recently did a clean install for my cousin's laptop and it always ended up with a BSOD after updating the graphics driver.

Attached the zipped file from DM Log Collector.

    Hi Rishelle,

How was the driver update installed? Through the driver update program Driver Easy?
If so it is recommended to revert it back and remove all installed drivers from it, such programs are not necessary as the laptop manufacturer provides all drivers required.

    Hi axe0,

I downloaded the graphics driver from AMD's website but all other drivers were downloaded via Driver Easy.
My cousin does not have a recovery CD and I can't seem to find support for this particular laptop model on Sony's website.

I cannot find the support page either.

All drivers should be downloaded from Sony, others can cause problems.

If the support page for this model doesn't exist, do I download the drivers from Sony based on a similar model?

I would not take that risk, laptop manufacturers alter the drivers provided for each model, this means that if you install drivers from a different model it could cause problems, it is pretty much the same as installing drivers from the direct source which does not provide the altering.

The altering is basically an optimization for the hardware for better functioning.

So I should identify the components and download the drivers manually from the direct sources?

Per the site of Sony you might need to search at Support : Sony Asia Pacific for support.
