Continuous BSOD after loading map in Garry's Mod
I have discovered that the BSOD is caused by either my: GPU, Drivers, or PCIe slot.
(From MY observations! I could be wrong! Thats why I am here )
READ "What works" below to see how I came to this conclusion.----------------------------------------Detailed Story-------------------------------------------------------------
How it occured:
Was playing Gmod. It switched maps and it was just a white screen. Then BSOD.
Symptoms:
Windows 7 x64 unable to load now. BSOD right after Windows logo appears. Windows logo is greenish color and right before it crashes I get white lines across my monitor.
What works:
Able to boot into safe mode
Dismounted+disconnected my GPU and was successfully able to boot Windows normally using the onboard video card.
-HOWEVER, if I do NOT dismount my GPU from my mobo it says no signal and will not boot.
Basically: Card in, no boot. Card out, boot.
------------------------------------Solutions / Guidance?? -------------------------------------------------------
I am in the process of doing 'Clean Install of AMD Graphics Drivers' using these tutorials:
Clean Install AMD Graphics Drivers
How-To Uninstall AMD Catalyst
My Questions:
Before reading. I am NOT 100% confident that this is the problem or the questions to the solution
- Do I need to uninstall Catalyst Controller?
- Do I need DDU uninstaller?
- Do I need to install Radeon Software or just the AMD Chipset Drivers from: AMD HD 7850 Drivers
- Will the drivers install properly if my GPU is dismounted and disconnected from my MOBO
- How will I know if its my Drivers, GPU, or PCIe slot
