The standalone installer has been searching for updates for over 10 mins. Is that normal?

    Hi T
Your activated but NOT registered, you need to install KB971033,
You should be good to go then.

On a side note as WU is basically in a recycle mode it will ramp up temps as its ALLWAYS running albeit in the background.
200+ updates will now install, and any graphics card ones as well.

WHEN there installed please run sfc /scannow.

IF your original problems still persist, repost the BSOD reports

    Roy
Good to go as in I should be able to update windows? I still can't.

I'm not sure if you want me to run the scan now since Windows still won't update.

The chance that this is the cure is possible, because a single update missing can cause problems, but we cannot ever say it for sure until you tell us whether it is or is not resolved.
